In 2005, the RMS Queen Mary found herself on the receiving end of paranormal television's worst with a much debated episode of SyFy Channel's Ghost Hunters. Patrick Wheelock and Beyond Investigation debunk "the debunkers" with surprising results.

Engine Room Room EVP Electronic Voice Phenomenon [EVP] | Class A

Queen Mary Green Room EVP and AVP  New!  A Queen Mary welcoming "Get out!"
One can not be counted as a full-fledged paranormal investigator until an EVP or disembodied voice screaming a cliche "Get out!" has been experienced, right? Intrepid Queen Mary after hours ParaTour members were so christened after immediately reaching the ship's engine room for an Electronic Voice Phenomenon [EVP] session during St. Patrick's Day 2014 weekend. With holiday festivities brewing above decks, our stern paranormal friend apparently wanted nothing to do with our mortal foolishness as he had a ship to run.

We thank regular tour guest, Eric P. of La Habra, California for his strong possible otherworldly evidence.

Queen Mary Green Room EVP and AVP EVP [Class C] and AVP [Audible Voice Phenomenon]

Queen Mary Green Room EVP and AVP Queen Mary's Green Room EVP and AVP captures in same recording
During a late August 2013 tour, a very curious set of events occurred during an investigation stop within the ship's boiler room area "Green Room". Tour guest, Jim M. from Los Angeles, California potentially captured two different otherworldly audio phenomena within one recording.

As tour host, Matthew, asked purported resident boiler worker spirit, Henry or John Henry, if he is more a "beer or whiskey guy", an EVP can be heard answering "beer" followed by an indistinguishable two syllable word or possible two words. It's a bit soft, so headphones would be helpful with reviewing this portion.

The next question, "Do you like smoking a nice cigar sometimes?" elicits an answer "Yeaaaahhhh...", apparently by the same voice that answered "beer". This time, it's AVP [Audible Voice Phenomenon], a response heard live, real-time with unaided ears. A compelling element to the recording is the vocalization plays back greater on the left channel of Jim's stereo recording, verifying his claim it originated near his left ear as told to Matthew before the recording was reviewed.

Queen Mary's John Pedder speaks out? Electronic Voice Phenomenon [EVP] | Class A

Queen Mary's John Pedder speaks out? Queen Mary's John Pedder speaks out?
On July 10, 1966 at the age of eighteen, RMS Queen Mary fireman, John Pedder, was found crushed by water tight door thirteen within the ship's Shaft Alley. Because there were no witnesses to the deathly accident, why he died has long been speculated. Since his death, his presence has purportedly been seen and heard throughout the ship while exhibiting a playful disposition. During a recent late night ship ParaTour, daytime ship tour host, Bradford M., joined the team. What is shared by him is a terrific example of a high quality Class A EVP captured at a quiet portion of Shaft Alley isolated from fellow guests.

Queen Mary vocalization heard real time Audible Noise Phenomenon [ANP] | Heard real time

Queen Mary cat meow heard real time Pool area changing room ghost cat?
ParaXplorer and Queen Mary Paranormal Tour hostess, Erika Frost, has long sensed the presence of at least one spirit cat within the first and third class pool area's changing room. An intriguing submission from a tour guest seen here may show an image of one. After hearing a possible Audible Noise Phenomenon (ENP) "meow" on a Saturday late Paranormal Tour host, PararXplorer Matthew is treated to an even more robust audible "meow" during the next night's tour experienced by his dozen guest investigators, funny enough, as he is relating the previous night's event. Also interesting, the noise comes after he voices a descriptive "meow". Was the changing room ghost cat calling back? Thanks go to Ken W. from Hysperia, California, for the submission. Heard at the 18 second mark, the noise is repeated three times.

Joy C. from Phoenix, Arizona, has provided this intriguing AVP recording made within the ship's fabled Green Room located in a forward boiler room. As tour guide, Matthew, questions purported boiler room spirit occupant, Henry or John Henry, a voice is heard by most of the over dozen guest investigators to say "Up here" from an open ventilation hole cut out of the room's ceiling. Matthew was at the room's entrance and missed it. As with many AVP captures, what was recorded is not as robust sounding as what was heard by ear. Thanks also goes to guests R.J. V., Lupe H., Mariano L. and Tommy H. for also relating their personal experience in writing.

Queen Mary vocalization heard real time Queen Mary pool area vocalization heard in real time
This interesting audio was sent to us by a Queen Mary late night ParaTour guest who documented an exciting happening within the first and third class pool area's changing room. Tour host, Erika, is setting-up a laser grid system within the hall of the changing room when what appears to be a juvenile vocalization is heard originating from outside the hallway's exit. It's bold and obvious with some claiming the ghostly voice to be saying, "I'm running". What is being said, if anything, can't be determined for sure, of course, but this type of vocalization does jive with regular experiences common to tour hosts and guests.

Anomalous vocalizations at family cemetery EVP | Class B

Anomalous vocalizations at a family cemetery Anomalous vocalizations at family cemetery
Presented here is an intriguing recording provided by Steve C. from Irving, Texas. While Steve and cousin are visiting the resting place of the cousin's husband at their family cemetery, audio anomalies can be heard from a location known to be rich with Electronic Voice Phenomenon [EVP] captures. Among the atmospheric crickets and distant dog barking, and the cousin's tearful sniffling and brief recorder handling noises, two odd potential vocalizations shine through: a whispered possible "Momma, goodbye" at the 2 seconds mark and an accented mature woman who might be saying at the 7 seconds mark, "It ain't right. You know John, Joseph?" Both rank an 8 out of 10 on the creep-o-meter and are repeated three times each at the end of the full recording.

A scream from the Queen Mary's boiler room A scream from the Queen Mary's boiler room
January 19, 2013's Queen Mary ParaTour was one to remember for it's possible concentrated activity within the ship's boiler rooms. As the group prepares for a structured EVP session within the fabled "green room", one guest notes hearing a laugh, another notes a breath close to them, but all hear real time what only can be described as a classic horror-type scream coming from directly above the room's makeshift ceiling opening. Luckily, Sara R. from New Hampshire, provides the team with her recording of the events. Though the "laugh" was not recorded, a spectral or environmental noise responsible for the "breath" can be heard at the 9 seconds mark, just prior to the guest noting it. As for the potential scream? Well, have a listen.

Steve C. from Irving, Texas, presents the team with a compelling EVP captured during a late night Queen Mary ParaTour December 16, 2012. Recorded within the first and third class pool area, ParaXplorer Matthew is heard referring to an Amanda, a possible intelligent spirit so named by Queen Mary paranormal ambassador, Erika Frost, after the team has collected several years of evidence presenting her potential existence. A moment after he mentions her name, a spectral confirming "Amanda" can be heard in the background at the 7 seconds mark.

Who's banging on the bulkhead? "I was the one." A ghastly gasp on the Star of India Maritime Museum
Jack Kenna from Spirits of New England, brings us this chilling audio anomaly while visiting San Diego's Star of India Maritime Museum from the east coast. As he and fellow investigators end a structured vigil, one can hear what can only be described as a ghastly female gasp EVP loud and clear among the group's movements. What makes this recording more compelling is Adobe Audition's spectral view characteristics show the gasp is a not an environmental noise, but a vocalization apparently gone unheard. See the spectral view here.

While assisting guide, Patrick Wheelock, during a midnight Queen Mary Paranormal Investigation Tour, independent investigator, Gerald Reynolds, documents a wild experience while holding vigil in the ship's forward cargo hold. As the tour group conducts an EVP recording session in the hold, violent banging is heard one deck above in a locked-off area. Gerald departs from the group and makes his way upward to locate the source. He captures the anomalous noise, Patrick's inquiry and an EVP of a woman claiming I was the one.

Submission: Possible Queen Mary pool shadow figure

Submission: Possible shadow figure close-up
New!  Queen Mary historic ship, Long Beach, California | Submitted for review by a tour guest is a possible black mass or what is commonly referred to as a "shadow person" within the ship's first and third class pool area. On a side note, tour host ParaXplorer Matthew, his tour guests and tour security escorts have noted an up-tick of witnessing such figures in the same area -- sometimes in unison. The submitter claims no member of their small tour group was present as the photo was taken. The tour guide makes the same claim.

Review
1 | The first step in reviewing an evidential image is forensics research. It was determined the image submitted was never modified after it's original taking. The figure is not the result of digital image manipulation such as via Photoshop. The figure's "lower torso" is obscured by the balcony wall with the ledge edge's light reflection being blocked by the mass. Close scrutiny leads one to believe there is a physical presence.

2 | The tour host can be seen standing at a distance on the forward staircase landing and though there is no overhead lighting above him, he can be seen with reasonable detail. In contrast, the black mass appears in an upper walkway that had many close overhead light fixtures but shows absolutely no detail.

Conclusion
1 | Due to potential exposure challenges faced by a digital camera CMOS (image sensor) within the pool area's low and uneven lighting, the anomaly could be, though doubtful because of its apparent position, a sensor artifact, or a sensor underexposed exploring guest the submitter didn't realize was in frame.

2 | A classic shadow person was captured.

We will never know for certain, but the team will attempt to duplicate the image.

Submission: Possible Queen Mary pool changing room cat apparition Queen Mary historic ship, Long Beach, California | On occasions, compelling imagery is captured by guest investigators during ParaXplorer Erika Frost's ParaTours. Mindy S. of Los Angeles CA shares this image taken within the infamous first and third class pool's womens changing room.

Throughout her tours, Erika has noted occasional wandering spirit cats within the changing room. Upon research, it was discovered cats were brought aboard to control the rodent population. It does appear a cat-like shape was captured in Mindy's image. Erika recalls mentioning the sensing of a spirit cat within the area to the tour group just prior to the camera snap.

ParaXplorer note: There is no obvious physical explanation of the object. No bags or other material items were place on the hallway floor.

Submission: Possible Queen Mary historic ship Boiler Room apparition Queen Mary historic ship, Long Beach, California | Here is a fascinating image snapped at random by a late night ParaTour hosted by ParaXplorer Erika Frost using a smart phone camera. Originating from tour stop Boiler Room No. 2, this image shows what appears to be a semi-transparent, full figured female apparition with her arms crossed at the lower right hand corner.

The guest was so shaken by what appeared on her smart phone's preview screen, she threw the phone down onto the ground, screamed, and ran out the main doors. The tour's security escort responded to the image with great amazement. He was stationed within four feet of where the apparition appeared. He states absolutely no one was near him when the photo was taken.

ParaXplorer Project is currently researching a female spirit who might be the source of this sighting. A female has been heard vocalizing live and real time, and EVP captured in the same area possibly presenting communication from the same spirit.
